This month on Saturday June 19th at 6pm we will discuss entity selection for your business and the importance of selecting the correct one to ensure you're getting the proper tax treatment.
When investing or running a business, different entity structures can produce different outcomes when it comes to operation of the business as well as tax implications.
This month, we will review different entity types, how the structure can impact the tax outcome, and why some are better structured for real estate investing than others. While this will not get into all of the details, this will provide an educational high overview and the reasoning behind entity structure, and why it can be important. We will compare sole-proprietors, Single Member LLC's, Multi-Member LLC, S-Corporations and C-Corporations, and how these structures can produce different outcomes for different scenarios, with some basic examples for understanding operations of each.

We will also talk about how apartment investing works and how you can get involved. There are really two ways to participate in apartment syndications, passively and actively. In other words, you can do as little as place money in a deal and receive a regular return i.e. passive investing, or you can earn sweat equity by spending your time working as a general partner i.e. active investing.
